Chiropractic Care: Think about it!  You get your teeth checked, your heart and lungs checked, even your eyes and ears checked regularly.  Why do so many of us not consider our spine to be important?  You all know that when you maintain anything, you can use it more efficiently and for a longer time.  If your spine wears out, can you get another one?  Everyone should be checked at least yearly to see if you have any misalignments of the spine vertebrae.  If you or your children do have misalignments, we can find them and gently correct them more easily the earlier we find them. If you wait for a symptom to appear,  it is late.  Nerve flow may have been interrupted for a long time having created functional deficiencies without exhibiting any pain.  My office offers gentle non-force techniques.

Applied Kinesiology: It is the science of muscle activation, using muscle testing techniques to determine the need for and effectiveness of treatment. Using kinesiology, I restore muscle balance which is essential to good posture and health.  Applied kinesiology recognizes the structural, chemical and psychological/spiritual essence of healing. We are all looking for better health. As such, this technique is extraordinary in its diagnostic and therapeutic approach. It is gentle, non-invasive and thorough.

With regard to nutrition, it is particularly helpful because there is no ‘guess work’ as to which vitamin is the right one for you.  The body in its infinite wisdom “knows it all” which means that by testing a supplement in the mouth (sub-lingually) the body has time to react and can show us which one is best by the integrity of the muscle’s strength or weakness. There are so many vitamin supplements to choose from.  This is a wonderful way to determine the right one for you.

CranioSacral Therapy: CST is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction.  It was developed by Osteopathic physician, John Upledger after years of clinical testing.  Using a soft touch which is usually no greater than 5 grams (about the weight of a nickel),  restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the brain and spinal cord can be released.  Every day the body endures stresses and strains that it must work to compensate for. Fortunately, using this system restrictions can be detected and corrected with light touch.

Nutritional Consulting: They say, ” You are what you eat!”  Is that the whole story? You are biochemically unique! Just because there is a  new supplement that sounds amazing in an article you read, how do you know if it is right for you?  Which foods alone or in combination are right for you? How do you know which vitamin is the right one for you?  How many should you take daily based on your height and weight?  It really is quite confusing!  How do our nutritional needs change with the seasons, before or after surgery, if we have allergies?  If you have any questions regarding your nutrition, please call us for an appointment.

Electro-Acupuncture: This is officially called Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation Therapy. It is a combination of acupuncture with segmental and dermal therapy which permits the treatment of many chronic pain syndromes successfully. This is a non-invasive technique that is versatile and effective.

Neuro-Emotional Technique: Do you think that an emotion can be the cause of a physical condition?  An NET practitioner  finds unresolved negatively charged emotions that been stored in the body and with muscle testing and dialoging release them from the body. It is fast and often times dramatic. Its intention is not to replace psychotherapy as needed.

Cold Laser Therapy: The field of low-level cold laser therapy is growing rapidly.  There has been a good deal of research done on the biology of light therapy. All organisms including humans, emit a glow that is too faint to be detected with the eye but can be measured precisely with photomultipliers that amplify weak signals millions of times.  The following is an explanation of how this tool works. The cells of the human body, and the body as a whole, both emit and absorb coherent biophotons which play a key role in the regulation and the coordination of cellular and physiological processes.  It appears that optimal results with light therapy take place when the light is of low intensity (does not heat tissues), is of  short duration and which pulses on and off.

I have found the Derma Laser to be quite helpful with scars, acne, tight muscles, inflammation, bruises and injured tissues.

Se Habla Espanol: Many of you know that I have a masters degree in Spanish Education from Hofstra University. I also taught ‘spanish for nurses’ at Molloy college a long time ago.  I enjoy helping spanish-speaking patients who can have the comfort of speaking their language to their doctor.
